"FREEDOOOOOM!" Rocky shouted as he was soaring over the countryside. Now although the other circus animals weren't too friendly with Rocky, he did get some help from one of the lions, Slanger, on some plans in order to make his escape successful. That night's performance was near the countryside which stretched for miles, this was Rocky's chance. ![]() When an idea came into his mind, he was going to escape. Refusing to believe his father was right about life being full of disappointments, Rocky had enough with this. Soon the circus traveled all the way to England on a tour, Rocky couldn't take much more of this. There were times when Rocky did miss his family, and he wondered if they missed him. Yet his life seemed even more miserable than ever, even worse then his old life back on the farm. Although his life in the circus was abusive, being stuffed into that cannon for two shows every night plus always smelling like gunpowder, Rocky loved being in the spotlight. "Rocky the flying rooster" quickly became the star attraction of the show, much to the other circus animals jealously. The ringmaster quickly came up with the idea of stuffing Rocky in the cannon, then having him fired out to make it look like he was flying. Rocky didn't know where he was until he had a look around realizing he was in the circus. Once the van finally stopped and the doors opened, Rocky flinched covering his eyes from the blinding light after being inside that dark van nearly half the day. The man placed Rocky in a cage in the back of a van, closed the door and drove off. Soon a man with a mustache, wearing a fancy vest came over looking for a chicken to buy, he chose Rocky. After a long bumpy ride, Rocky was taken into town and soon found himself in an outside market, waiting to be sold along with some other chickens. One day Rocky was wandering along the side of the road when a pickup-truck pulled up beside him and snatched him up. Rocky soon picked up a name, dubbing himself "The Lone Free Ranger". Now wandering along, not fitting in anywhere or looking for a place to stay. Feeling like his dad had given up on him and that he didn't belong here, Rocky ran away, leaving his family and farm life behind. These problems just became worse, when one night Rocky accidentally overheard his dad talking with his mom saying that their son was a "lost cause". But Rocky was young and reckless, and wanted more to his life than just the dull life on the farm getting up early in the morning to crow with his father and the other young cockerels. ![]() Until his dad told him life's full of disappointments and to except it. Now almost an adult, Rocky was tired of the daily routine for himself. Rocky's relationship with his family, mainly his dad was also starting to drift, even getting into fights with him sometimes. Rocky also had a rivalry with Brad, a young Marans cockerel who would often use his charm and good looks to win over the ladies. He was weaker than most of them, making him an easy target for bullying and was often kicked out of their games. Rocky didn't fit in well with the other young roosters. But soon after a few months, Rocky realized life was pretty rough for him. Just a little squirt afraid of his own shadow, but his dad said he'd protect him, claiming he had magical powers. ![]() Like all the other young cocks on the farm, Rocky was full of curiosity. Rocky was born on a farm in America somewhere along the East Coast. Rocky's Beginnings, A Rough Start with DadĪll the chickens say they've had tragic pasts, and Rocky's is no exception.
